Explore the Picturesque River Lea

Once the border between London and Essex until London grew further afield, and now the picturesque River Lea is flanked by a cycle and walk paths.

Your cruise will start with a debrief at the embarking point which is usually around Homerton Road of the River Lea and you will travel pass Mably Green towards Hackney wick, pass the cafeterias and eateries and businesses mooring as well as the headquarters of BT sports. We will also pass along the way different species of ducks, they are protected by law anyone breaching the law can be fined or given a custodial sentence. 80% of the boats we pass are liveable with people, in some cases small families are living on board.

Types of boats we will be passing: Barge, Dutch Berge, Narrow boats, and a few Cabin cruisers like the one you will be travelling on. The destination is the famous Olympic Park where you will see in front of you views of Canary Wharf on the left West Ham football stadium. The turning point will be Old Ford lock where we will turn the cruise boat vessel and head back. This part is very busy during summer with bars cafes and people just enjoying the sunshine and sunset. The River Lea has many fishes but you need a rob licence and only certain parts of the river is permitted for fishing.
